The Story Of Doctor Who

imageAs part of this year's Celtic Media Festival, BBC Cymru Wales will be revealing the story behind the universe's most popular Time Lord at a very special public event in Caernarfon.

On the evening of Wednesday, 25 March 2009, BBC Wales will be hosting The Story of Doctor Who - a chance for members of the public to get up-close and personal with some of the show's most recognisable behind-the-scenes names.

The event, hosted by popular BBC Wales presenter Lucy Owen, will see a panel of distinguished talent - including Head Writer and Executive Producer Russell T Davies, Executive Producer Julie Gardner, Production Designer Edward Thomas, Director Euros Lyn and Brand Manager Ian Grutchfield - answer questions about how they take the show from script to screen. The panel will possibly be revealing a few trade secrets along the way too!

"Doctor Who's made in Wales, and this is a great chance to share in the whole range of the Celtic Media Festival, to celebrate everything made in this country," said Russell T Davies.

"We're very pleased to be able to confirm this very special event," added Elen ap Robert, artistic director at event hosts Galeri Caernarfon. "The revival of the Doctor Who series under Russell T Davies and the BBC Wales team has been such an immense success, and the programme has a very loyal following amongst audiences of all ages. Here's a rare chance to take a peek behind the scenes and put your own questions to those in the know."

The Celtic Media Festival is an annual three-day celebration of broadcasting, film talent and excellence from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany. Its aim is to promote the languages and cultures of the Celtic countries on screen and in broadcasting.
